Best Call of Duty Warzone Settings for Low-end PC: RTX 3060, RTX 4060 & RTX 4060 Mobile GPU

Call of Duty: Warzone got its latest update with Black Ops 6 content, including new maps, game modes, and weapons. In our optimization guide, we explored its graphics settings, including their visual and performance impacts in detail. This post analyzes Warzone’s framerates on budget and low-end PCs, comprising Core i5/Ryzen 5 CPUs and GeForce RTX 3060/4060 GPUs.

Windows/System Settings to Optimize

  • Enable Resizable BAR.
  • Turn on Game Mode.
  • Enable Hardware-accelerated GPU Scheduling (HAGS) and Windowed Optimizations.
  • Use the Windows “High Performance” power profile and set your GPU power management mode to the same.
  • Disable Memory Integrity. Windows Menu->VBS->Device Security.
  • Ensure you use the proper XMP/EXPO memory profile (if available).
  • Overclock your GPU if you’re narrowly missing the 60 FPS mark.
  • Here’s a guide with more detailed instructions.

Call of Duty Warzone: Low-end PC Benchmarks

Call of Duty: Warzone is quite taxing on budget and low-end PCs. You’ll most likely be GPU-bound with a low to moderate CPU bottleneck to make matters worse. The GeForce RTX 3060 paired with a Ryzen 5 5600 barely manages 120 FPS on average with DLSS set to “Balanced” mode. Additionally, shadows, ambient occlusion, volumetric, and reflection quality were all reduced to “Low.”

If you’re aiming for 144 FPS at 1080p, you’ll also need to turn down “Shader Quality” to the lowest, and reduce the upscaling mode to “Performance.” We recommend 1440p only if you have an RTX 4070 or higher, or if you don’t mind sticking to 60 FPS.

The Alienware x14 featuring the RTX 4060 laptop GPU fares similarly, averaging less than 120 FPS at 1080p with DLSS upscaling set to “Performance” mode. Approaching 144 FPS requires turning down the shadows, volumetric, and shader quality to the lowest, while completely disabling reflections.

VRAM Usage & CPU Bottlenecks

Call of Duty: Warzone uses up to 10 GB of graphics memory at 1080p with DLSS set to “Performance” mode. The GeForce RTX 3060 12 GB handles it well, but the RTX 4060 laptop GPU runs into a memory bottleneck which fortunately doesn’t cause any micro-stuttering. We reckon the game is internally lowering the texture quality.

NVIDIA RTX 3060/R5 5600

The AMD Ryzen 5 5600 faces no major CPU bottlenecks, with an average GPU-Busy deviation of 10-15% at 1080p 120 FPS. Meanwhile, the Core i7-13620H on the Alienware x14 records a 19% deviation due to the thermal limitations and lower clocks.
