Low-end

Indiana Jone & the Great Circle Settings for Low-end PC: RTX 3060, RTX 3060 Ti & RTX 4060

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is off to a great start with stellar reviews from critics and gamers. The game performs well on PC, although the VRAM consumption is a little over the top. Path tracing makes it among the most realistic titles launched in recent history, as long as you can afford it. Being included in Game Pass means that you don’t need to shell out a dime as long as you’re a subscriber. Here’s our guide for low-end PCs. The graphics deep-dive with benchmarks and explanations of each setting can be found here.

Windows/System Settings to Optimize

  • Enable Resizable BAR.
  • Turn on Game Mode.
  • Enable Hardware-accelerated GPU Scheduling (HAGS) and Windowed Optimizations.
  • Use the Windows “High Performance” power profile and set your GPU power management mode to the same.
  • Disable Memory Integrity. Windows Menu->VBS->Device Security.
  • Ensure you use the proper XMP/EXPO memory profile (if available).
  • Overclock your GPU if you’re narrowly missing the 60 FPS mark.
  • Here’s a guide with more detailed instructions.

Indiana Jones & the Great Circle: Low-end PC Benchmarks

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle runs remarkably well on low-end hardware…as long as you keep path tracing disabled. The GeForce RTX 3060 12 GB averaged 70 FPS at 1080p “Supreme” quality graphics settings with DLSS set to quality mode. The gameplay was quite smooth with 1% lows of 55 FPS. This sub-$300 card produced an average of 61 FPS at 1440p with DLSS set to “Performance” mode and lows of 50 FPS.

The GeForce RTX 4060 laptop GPU on the Alienware x14 produced similar numbers at 1080p, but the texture quality had to be reduced to “High” and DLSS set to balanced mode. To stay above 60 FPS at 1440p, the shadows, reflections, and water quality had to be reduced to “High” and the DLSS to “Performance” mode.

There was no room for path tracing on either GPU, and frame generation was not an option due to the limited 8 GB VRAM buffer on the RTX 4060. If you didn’t know, frame generation tends to increase the VRAM usage by 1 GB or more.

VRAM Usage & CPU Bottlenecks

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is well optimized for multi-core CPUs, exhibiting a low GPU-Busy deviation of 5% on the Alienware x14, and 0% on the Ryzen 5 5600. Very few PCs should run into CPU bottlenecks running this game.

Alienware x14: Core i7-13620H + RTX 4060

The VRAM consumption is another story. The entire 12 GB memory buffer on the RTX 3060 12 GB was utilized, while the RTX 4060 mobile came very close to running out of graphics memory. If you have an 8 GB card, and keep seeing artifacts or stutters, reduce the shadow quality to “Medium.”
