Mecha Break Settings for Low-end PC & Laptops: RTX 3060 & RTX 4060

Mecha Break recommends a GeForce RTX 3060 or a Radeon RX 5700 XT for optimal performance at 1080p. The CPU requirements include a Core i7-10700K or a Ryzen 7 5700X3D. You’ll also need at least 8 GB of main memory and 60 GB of storage. We’re using a similar setup to test the game for our budget and low-end guide.

Best Settings for Mecha Break: RTX 3060 & 4060 + Laptop GPUs

The Alienware x15 featuring the Core i7-13620H and the GeForce RTX 4060 laptop GPU averages 40-50 FPS using the “Cinematic” quality settings and balanced upscaling at native 1440p. Our optimized graphics preset increases the average frame rate to 68 FPS:

  • We recommend using the quality or balanced upscaling preset at 1080p and 1440p. The performance upscaling mode is barely faster due to CPU limitations.
  • Virtual Geometry Precision and Vegetation Precision need to be reduced to “Medium” for a 7-10% performance improvement.
  • Terrain Precision improves foliage lighting and material blending, but is completely superfluous. Set it to “Low” to improve your frame rates by 10%.
  • Scene Interactions should also be disabled for a smoother experience. You lose water and vegetation physics, but gain 5% more performance.
  • Streamed Texture Quality is a performance hog and doesn’t improve the visual fidelity. Opt for “Standard.”
  • These settings should be sufficient for a GeForce RTX 4060 running at 1440p.
  • If you’re running an RTX 3060 (or prefer higher frame rates), drop the Rendering Quality to “High” or “Ultra.”
  • Reducing it to “Low” should increase the frame rates to 100 FPS, but it drastically degrades the visual fidelity.

Mecha Break: 1080p on the RTX 3060/4060

Fortunately, 1080p is much more forgiving. The GeForce RTX 4060 laptop GPU averages 50-60 FPS using the “Cinematic” quality preset. Our optimized settings improve the average frame rate to 83 FPS:

  • Players running the RTX 3060 laptop GPU should set the Rendering Quality to “Ultra” at 1080p.
  • The RTX 4060 averages nearly 100 FPS upon switching to the “High” quality.

Windows/System Settings to Optimize

  • Enable Resizable BAR.
  • Turn on Game Mode.
  • Enable Hardware-accelerated GPU Scheduling (HAGS) and Windowed Optimizations.
  • Use the Windows “High Performance” power profile and set your GPU power management mode to the same.
  • Overclock your GPU if you’re narrowly missing the 60 FPS mark.
  • Ensure you use the proper XMP/EXPO memory profile (if available).
  • Disable Memory Integrity.
  • Disable Virtual Machine Platform.
  • Here’s a guide with more detailed instructions.

VRAM Usage & CPU Bottlenecks

Mecha Break uses up to 10 GB of graphics memory at the highest quality graphics settings. It drops to 8 GB at “High.” “Cinematic” Textures may cause stuttering on 8 GB GPUs.

Mecha Break: VRAM Usage

Mecha Break is fairly CPU-bound at 1080p, even on budget and low-end GPUs. We recorded a GPU-Busy deviation of 12-18% at 1080p using the RTX 4060 at the “Medium” quality settings.
