Spider-Man 2 Optimized Settings for Low-end PC: RTX 3060, 3060 Ti & RTX 4060

Spider-Man 2 has had a rough launch. While the performance isn’t particularly lacking, the game suffers from recurring crashes regardless of your settings or configuration. Our optimization guide deep dives into the game’s various graphics settings, including ray tracing, DLSS ray reconstruction, and frame generation. The following guide analyzes its performance on budget hardware, focusing on the GeForce RTX 3060 and the Core i5-12600KF.

Windows/System Settings to Optimize

  • Enable Resizable BAR.
  • Turn on Game Mode.
  • Enable Hardware-accelerated GPU Scheduling (HAGS) and Windowed Optimizations.
  • Use the Windows “High Performance” power profile and set your GPU power management mode to the same.
  • Disable Memory Integrity. Windows Menu->VBS->Device Security.
  • Ensure you use the proper XMP/EXPO memory profile (if available).
  • Overclock your GPU if you’re narrowly missing the 60 FPS mark.
  • Here’s a guide with more detailed instructions.

Spider-Man 2: Low-end PC Benchmarks

Spider-Man 2 requires frame generation for 60 FPS and above regardless of your resolution. Sure, you can reduce the graphics settings to medium or low and enable performance mode upscaling, but that won’t produce the best visuals. Fortunately, this game features FSR 3.1-based frame generation which works on every graphics card.

The GeForce RTX 3060 averages 75 FPS at the maximum quality settings at 1080p with ray tracing disabled. We achieved these numbers using balanced quality DLSS upscaling and FSR 3 frame generation. The resulting gameplay is silky smooth with minimal stutters.

Then there’s ray tracing. While playable, you’ll face plenty of framepacing issues, especially during fast-paced sequences. We recommend going with the “High” ray tracing preset with ray reconstruction disabled and scaling it up to match your preference. Disabling the individual RT settings doesn’t do much for the averages, but improves the lows.

VRAM Usage & CPU Bottlenecks

Unlike Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, Spider-Man 2 is quite the memory hog. The VRAM consumption of the RTX 3060 averaged 11 GB using the very quality RT preset at 1080p with DLSS upscaling and FSR frame generation. Disabling ray tracing reduces it to 9 GB. Reducing LOD to “High” decreases system memory usage by 2 GB.

1080p Very High DLSS B FG

Spider-Man 2 is mostly GPU-bound, at least with frame generation. We observed a GPU-Busy deviation of 6% using the above settings on the Core i5-12600KF.
