Split Fiction Optimized Settings for Low-end PC: RTX 3060, RTX 3060 Ti & RTX 4060

Split Fiction is another surprise hit from Hazelight Studios, published under the “EA Original” banner. The game peaked at 259K players on Steam, garnering overwhelmingly positive reviews. It’s one of the rare titles to leverage Unreal Engine 5 without Lumen or Nanite. It lacks ray tracing but performs well across a range of hardware. Here’s how it runs on the most popular Steam GPU, the GeForce RTX 3060.

Windows/System Settings to Optimize

  • Enable Resizable BAR.
  • Turn on Game Mode.
  • Enable Hardware-accelerated GPU Scheduling (HAGS) and Windowed Optimizations.
  • Use the Windows “High Performance” power profile and set your GPU power management mode to the same.
  • Disable Memory Integrity. Windows Menu->VBS->Device Security.
  • Ensure you use the proper XMP/EXPO memory profile (if available).
  • Overclock your GPU if you’re narrowly missing the 60 FPS mark.
  • Here’s a guide with more detailed instructions.

Split Fiction: Low-end Benchmarks

Split Fiction performs well on budget and entry-level hardware, averaging over 60 FPS on the GeForce RTX 3060 at 1440p. The Shadow Quality was set to “High” and upscaling to FSR 3.1 “Quality.” The remaining settings were maxed out.

We recorded an average of 69 FPS with 1% lows of 65 FPS during one of the most taxing sequences of the game (lemon orchard with the ogres). We didn’t notice any stutters or frame pacing issues in split screen mode even with different scenes in each half.

VRAM Usage & CPU Bottlenecks

Split Fiction uses up to 8 GB of graphics memory at 1440p using the highest quality settings, with 1080p using a bit over 6 GB. Consequently, users with 6 GB and 8 GB GPUs shouldn’t have any trouble running the game at 1080p and 1440p, respectively.

Split Fiction is completely GPU-bound with a deviation of 0% across all our tests. This holds true for online and local coop with split screen mode.
