Ghost of Tsushima PC Hardware Requirements Revealed

Ghost of Tsushima is headed to PC on the 16th of May. The game will feature the base campaign, expansion, and multiplayer modes. It’ll be the first Sony title to feature the PlayStation overlay on a non-PS platform, bringing crossplay, voice chat, and more. The official PC requirements for Ghost of Tsushima are rather steep, considering it’s a 4+ year-old game.

For the highest quality at 4K, you’ll need a GeForce RTX 4080 or a Radeon RX 7900 XT. For QHD “High,” a GeForce RTX 3070 or a Radeon RX 6800 is recommended. For lower settings, you’ll need an RTX 2060 or a Radeon RX 5600 XT.

The CPU requirements start at quad-core i3/Ryzen 3 SKUs, and top out at the Core i5-11400/Ryzen 5 5600 for “Very High.” Interestingly, the CPU requirements for 4K 30 FPS “High” and 4K 60 FPS “Very High” are identical, indicating that the game will go easy on modern processors. After all, the PS5 is built atop the Zen 2 core from 2019 (so is the PS5 Pro).

The high-end GPU requirements are of note. The developers recommend an RTX 4080 or an RX 7900 XT for 4K 60 FPS. Our review shows that the RTX 4080 is notably faster than the RX 7900 XT. It competes with the 7900 XTX which costs at least $100 more than the XT.

The last two Sony titles to come to PC, Helldivers 2 and Horizon: Forbidden West, run considerably faster on Radeon GPUs. We expect the same from Ghost of Tsushima. Either way, it will feature day-0 support for AMD FSR 3, NVIDIA DLSS 3, and Intel XeSS, with DLAA and FSR 3 Native AA for top-end PCs. The game is fully optimized for ultra-wide monitors, with support for 21:9 and 32:9 resolutions. Even 48:9 resolutions and triple monitor set-ups are supported.
